Took the children to a Cold Stone Creamery near a funky new playground this afternoon. We couldn’t figure out how to work some of the playground equipment. Some of it was obviously for older children, but some of it none of the parents or grandparents present could understand. Made me feel better I wasn’t the only one, but it was still a weird feeling to not be able to “get” a playground. The water fountains were very cool. Music was piped in from speakers in the ground. E just bounced to the music — loved it. Of course the ice cream was a big hit, too. The best part for me was meeting another mother. She had a son the same age as E. I wound up talking to her a lot. I even recommended our MOMS Club to her. It was nice to be able to offer someone else a resource.
