In my quest for beverages without HFCS I’ve discovered three really good brands. Jones root beer is pretty good and is sweetened with cane sugar. Fuze fruit drinks are also good. I’ve had the cranberry-raspberry, which the children actually drank most of, and the banana colada, which is to die for. But the best drink I’ve discovered is the new A&W Root Beer Float drink. It’s like drinking a bottle of melted ice cream in root beer. It tastes just like a root beer float. No HFCS, but good lord, the stuff has 63g of sugar in it, which is some more kind of record. It’s very syrup-y. It’s also very expensive, $6.xx for a 4-pack. I won’t be buying it regularly, but man oh man, is it a good treat!
